Meet The Founder

Brittany Hebert, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Brittany Hebert is a Nurse Practitioner, nursing educator, and founder of I Can: An Easy Guide to Healthy Bodies and Minds. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern University A&M College in 2016 and has worked across a variety of healthcare settings, including critical care, step-down, medical-surgical, telemetry, long-term care, home health, and population health. In 2023, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Nicholls State University as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has continued her work educating both patients and future healthcare professionals.

Throughout her career, Brittany has witnessed firsthand how a lack of foundational health knowledge can impact individuals and families for years to come. She has cared for patients facing chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and mental health challenges, many of which could have been reduced or prevented through earlier education, healthier habits, and increased access to wellness resources. These experiences reinforced her belief that prevention must begin long before adulthood.

Driven by a passion for health equity and youth wellness, Brittany created I Can to help children develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to build lifelong healthy habits. Her vision is to empower young people to make informed choices about their physical and mental well-being while creating a foundation for healthier futures. Through engaging, age-appropriate wellness education, I Can seeks to give children the tools they need to thrive, not just today, but throughout their lives.

When children are given the knowledge to make healthy choices, the confidence to believe in themselves, and the support to keep trying, they become powerful advocates for their own well-being.

Why I Started I Can

As a Nurse Practitioner, educator, and mother, I have seen firsthand how health challenges can affect a child's confidence, emotional well-being, and future opportunities. Throughout my career, I have cared for individuals facing chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and mental health challenges. Time and time again, I found myself asking the same question: What if we could intervene earlier?

I began to recognize that many of the health struggles we see in adulthood often begin with habits, beliefs, and experiences formed during childhood. Many children are growing up without access to practical health education, positive wellness role models, emotional regulation tools, or the confidence to believe in themselves. Too often, children who look different, learn differently, or face unique challenges are made to feel as though they are the problem rather than being given the support they need to thrive.

That realization inspired the creation of I Can: An Easy Guide to Healthy Bodies and Minds. This program was built on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to feel confident, capable, understood, and empowered. I wanted to create something that goes beyond nutrition and exercise, a program that helps children build self-esteem, develop emotional resilience, learn healthy habits, and discover their own strengths.

As both a healthcare professional and a parent, I understand that children need more than information. They need encouragement. They need tools. They need opportunities to succeed. Most importantly, they need people who believe in them before they fully believe in themselves.

My vision for I Can is simple: to equip children with the knowledge, confidence, and life skills they need to build healthier futures, physically, emotionally, and mentally. By investing in prevention early, we have the opportunity to improve health outcomes, increase health equity, and help the next generation grow into healthier, more confident adults.

Because every child deserves the chance to say, "I Can.”
